NetIQ Names Charles M. Boesenberg President and Chief Executive Officer

Ching-Fa Hwang to Serve as Chairman

SAN JOSE, Calif.

NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, today announced that it has named Charles (Chuck) M. Boesenberg, president and chief executive officer. Ching-Fa Hwang, who is the co-founder and has served as the president and CEO of NetIQ since 1995, will be retiring from the day-to-day operations of the company and has taken the position of chairman of the board of directors. Hwang will maintain an active role in the business. Boesenberg will also join the NetIQ board of directors.

A 30-year veteran in the technology industry, Boesenberg has held senior executive positions at IBM and Apple and has served as president and CEO of Central Point Software, Magellan and Integrated Systems. As president and CEO of Integrated Systems, he led the integration of multiple acquisitions, and forged strategic partnerships resulting in the company's ability to deliver one of the broadest base of solutions in the embedded systems software market, and returned the company to revenue growth and strong profitability. Boesenberg also serves on the board of Symantec Corporation.
