NetIQ Manages Over 1000 Windows Servers for One of Australia's Largest Banks
ANZ Bank Completes Roll Out of NetIQ Management Software to 1,300 Servers
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, today announced Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ), one of Australia's leading banking and financial services groups, has selected NetIQ's management software, AppManager, to manage its Microsoft Windows 2000-based systems. This follows the rollout of AppManager to 1,300 ANZ branch and data center servers, which is to be completed in January 2002.
ANZ has committed to Windows 2000 as the standard operating system replacing Windows NT, NetWare and OS/2, over the next 12 months. This strategy is designed to accelerate its delivery of online services and provide a seamless network infrastructure to deliver an enhanced customer experience. In standardizing on Windows 2000 across the enterprise, NetIQ's AppManager has been chosen as the standard monitoring tool for that platform.
"As a recognized leader in migration, monitoring, management and security for Windows 2000, we are delighted to be part of ANZ's Windows 2000 strategy," said Jeff Hyde, regional director of NetIQ Pty. "For ANZ, we believe the proactive functionality of AppManager will quickly pay for itself in reduced system downtime and increased system performance and availability."
ANZ Group Managing Director Technology and Services David Boyles said, "NetIQ is part of our Windows 2000 strategy. AppManager has already demonstrated its ability to manage Windows 2000 and we look forward to further integration of the software into our organization."
Opening offices in 1998, NetIQ is relatively new to the Australian market but has quickly grown its customer base to more than 100 major companies including Suncorp Metway, Boral, Western Mining, Telstra, and Unisys. The company has more than 52,000 customers worldwide spanning e-businesses, medium to large enterprises and xSPs.
"As the corporate market in Australia continues to embrace Windows 2000, we see a massive opportunity for NetIQ to assist customers in migrating to, monitoring, managing and securing their distributed Windows-based environments," said Hyde.
For fiscal 2001, NetIQ revenues were $166.9 million, compared with $47.9 million for fiscal 2000, an increase of 248 percent. The company is currently ranked 12th on Bloomberg's third annual list of the 100 Fastest Growing Tech Companies.
