NetIQ Signs Licensing Agreement with FullArmor; NetIQ Group Policy Administrator Available in New Administration Suite, Advanced Edition
SAN JOSE, Calif.
NetIQ Corp. (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a leading provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, today announced a licensing agreement under which NetIQ has integrated FullArmor's FAZAM 2000 (Full Armor Zero Administration for Windows 2000) group policy management tool into the new NetIQ® Administration Suite™, Advanced Edition.
The NetIQ Administration Suite, Advanced Edition, provides customers the most comprehensive Windows and Active Directory management solution on the market today. The integrated group policy product has been branded NetIQ Group Policy Administrator. NetIQ also announced today the availability of a new version of the NetIQ Administration Suite, Standard Edition.
An important feature of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server is Active Directory Group Policy, which enables IT administrators to establish a uniform desktop environment and to control user access to data, applications and network resources. With NetIQ Group Policy Administrator, NetIQ will provide a critical manageability tool that allows administrators to easily reduce their administrative costs and increase security of Windows 2000 by helping them take full advantage of and easily manage Microsoft's Group Policy functionality.
"FullArmor's FAZAM 2000 is a recognized leader in the group policy management space, and with this licensing agreement, NetIQ now offers this best-of-breed capability as part of our Administration Suite, Advanced Edition," said Tom Kemp, senior vice president of Products for NetIQ. "NetIQ Group Policy Administrator significantly aids our customers in their efforts to bring security and consistency to the enterprise."
"FullArmor is proud to have gained such recognition and endorsement from NetIQ," said Rich Farrell, chief executive officer at FullArmor. "Having also earned the trust of some of the world's largest corporations, there is no doubt about the need for, and effectiveness of, Group Policy management."
Integrating NetIQ Group Policy Administrator with the other solutions in the NetIQ Administration Suite lets administrators delegate and automate much of the otherwise manual and time consuming administrative tasks to ensure the efficient and consistent application of security across the network.
NetIQ Administration Suite, Advanced Edition is a superset of the NetIQ Standard Edition that provides Active Directory administrators with enterprise-class Group Policy management capabilities, enabling IT managers to easily reduce their administrative costs and increase the security of Windows 2000. The Advanced Edition includes the Standard Edition plus the new NetIQ Group Policy Administrator product. Group Policy Administrator joins the following existing applications in the Suite:
- Directory Security Administrator - enhances the security provided in Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory by giving administrators a centralized interface to easily visualize, search for and modify Active Directory Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Directory and Resource Administrator - the award-winning product that provides highly secure distributed and automated administration of Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000/Active Directory environments.
- Exchange Administrator - integrates with Directory and Resource Administrator to automate and simplify Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2000 mailbox management across Windows NT 4 and Windows 2000 enterprises.
