Updated: For several years the ability to timestamp objects within iMonitor has been available, but doing so to dozens/hundreds/thousands of objects has never been much fun. As iMonitor is just a web interface scripting interactions with it is fairly easy to do.

Forcing Printers to Users after iPrint Migration

During the iPrint migration, all of the drivers are migrated, the existing printers are renamed adding _NW to the end of the names, and the new iPrint Printers are created. The users assigned to the old printers are assigned to the new printers as well, but there is a caveat. That only allows the users to install the printers from the web page at http://serveraddress/ipp. It does not force install the printers for the users. Here is how you can work around this.

This AppNote provides information on how to migrate YaST from OpenLDAP to eDirectory manually on SLES, making sure that LDAP based applications do not break. SLES offers eDirectory to be used as an alternate to OpenLDAP. But applications already using LDAP on SLES would break unless there is a provision to migrate the existing data from OpenLDAP to eDirectory.
