Health Check

Part of eDirectory health checking is to monitor the status of the eDirectory Daemon on each server in the environment.

Part of eDirectory health checking is to monitor time synchronisation in the environment.

I’ve put together a Nagios check script which can be used by system administrators to monitor whether time is out of sync on any contactable servers from eDirectory’s point of view. It also outputs a list of any servers that couldn’t be contacted.

To see what’s changed in the latest version and to find out where the script can be downloaded from, please read on.

Part of eDirectory health checking is to monitor for stuck obituaries in the environment.

I’ve put together a Nagios check script which can be used by system administrators to monitor the oldest obituary and alert if an age threshold is hit. It also outputs performance data which can be used to graph the trends of each obituary state.

To see what’s changed in the latest version and to find out where the script can be downloaded from, please read on.
