Q. Does Platespin Migrate support V2V conversions? Specifically we need to move Hyper-V VMs to VMWare ESXi at different data center. Also, currently we only have a 10Mb connection between the two and some VM’s have 200-300GB vhd’s, though we are currently looking at options to increase the bandwidth.

A. Yes, PlateSpin will support V2V migrations provided the source OS and hypervisor target platforms are supported. Check here to see what’s supported. http://www.novell.com/products/migrate/technical-information/

Our pre-sales technical specialists have some tools and best practices with regards to how to handle large data intensive workloads as well. Best advice is to give us a call and we can discuss your specific scenario in more detail.
