Years ago I came across this handy chart that showed a small history of eDirectory versions and platform support. Recently I decided to update it to include the newer versions and more details about the versions of operating systems supported.

Note: This information has not been vetted by Novell, but I did collect it from the various documentation available.

If you have any additional rows and columns you’d like to see leave a note, or if you have corrections, by all means please let me know!!

UPDATE:
I’ve updated this image based on your feedback to include SLES 11 and the 64 bit version of eDirectory. Many thanks also to all the folks on the TTP list that helped fill this in!!
