A while ago I reported a bug in the Remote Loader Prompt Stylesheet, where additional remote loader parameter (other than hostname, port and kmo) will not be picked up properly during a package update if the kmo parameter is not used. This is a common scenario (actually considered “best practice” in my book) when using…
NetIQ Validator comes with launch scripts for all supported platforms (Linux/Mac/Windows) but those are console mode shell scripts and offer not much comfort. The Launcher for NetIQ Validator is a drop-in replacement for the standard Windows script “runValidator.bat” that replaces the validator server console windows with a tray menu icon and (by default) auto-launches the validator client page.

A while ago I ran into the need for dynamic OU creation on a new driver and remembered having suggested a piece of code that was supposed to do that on the forums not long before. So I grabbed that rule and tried it myself – only to find it’s not working due to at least three bugs. After fixing and testing for a while, it seemed a better idea to start over again from scratch and here’s what I came up with…
Jarek Gawor’s excellent LDAP Browser/Editor v2.8.2 – though last updated in 2001, still one of the best! All previous download links seem to be broken, so here’s a refresh for all who prefer superfast and minimalistic tools like me.
A while ago I was seeing funny effects when syncing with the SAP UM driver to a SAP CUA (Central User Administration) system that distributes IDM-managed accounts further down to its own child system. I should’ve re-written my policies to avoid that situation in the first place, but who’s ever got time for such a boring thing? Instead I explored the much more interesting problem of how to write a rule that delays subsequent modifies to the same object to ensure a minimum interval.
Today I was again totally amazed by the power of xpath when working on a SAP HR driver. I was looking for a way to obtain an employee’s exit date, which is not directly available as an IDoc field, but needs to be calculated as the day before the begin of the validity period of the action record of type “10” with the highest validity end date. Know what I mean?
