Directory and Resource Administrator 6.x

fix

In Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA), if the number of licenses is exceeded you will be able to see users but not manage them or modify their properties. The only action you will be able to perform is to delete user accounts. When the number of user accounts returns to a level at or below the licensed amount, DRA will resume normal operations.

Once the license has been exceeded, the following error messages will be received:

When launching the MMC:

An error occurred while connecting to the Directory and Resource Administrator server for 'DOMAIN_NAME'.
You are trying to manage more user accounts than you have licensed for Directory Administrator.
Contact NetIQ Corporation sales department to update your license.

NOTE: After clicking OK, the DRA MMC will launch as expected.

When bringing up a user's properties:

Microsoft Internet Explorer
You have exceeded the number of managed items you are licensed for the feature OnePoint Directory Admin. Please contact NetIQ Corporation to get a new license.

Error received when attempting to add a member to a group:

Error - Web Page Dialog
There was an error adding the object_name object to the group_name group.
You have exceeded the number of managed items you are licensed for the feature OnePoint Directory Admin. Please contact NetIQ Corporation to get a new license.

note

Beginning with DRA version 7.0 when the license limit is exceeded, DRA remains fully functional except for the ability to create new User objects.  For more information on exceeding the license limit in DRA 7.x versions, see:
