AppManager for Veritas NetBackup

AppManager for Veritas NetBackup (AppManager for NetBackup) provides support for your NetBackup environment optimizing performance and ensuring availability through automated event detection and correction. In addition, this module lowers support costs associated with managing your NetBackup deployment.

Management Functions

Here are some of the out-of-the-box management functions provided by AppManager for NetBackup:

  • Detects the status of a class (active/inactive) and optionally activates the class.
  • Monitors the size of the NetBackup DB directory.
  • Detects when a NetBackup device is down and optionally resets the device.
  • Scans the NetBackup error log file for Error, Warning and Critical entries during the last N hours.
  • Monitors event log entries created by NetBackup.
  • Monitors the number of failed and incomplete backup jobs during the past N hours.
  • Monitors the job most recently submitted to the NetBackup server.
  • Monitors the size of the NetBackup log directory.
  • Detects any pending jobs on the NetBackup server.
  • Monitors the number of pending device requests on the NetBackup server.
  • Monitors the CPU and memory usage of NetBackup services.
  • Monitors discovered NetBackup services to check if any service is down.
  • Monitors whether modifications have been made to storage units configured on the NetBackup server.
