Course Description:
Through discussion and hands-on practice, this two-day course shows you how to leverage GPA to plan, manage, troubleshoot, and report on Group Policy. The main focus of the course is on setting up and administering a secure, offline repository for changing and releasing GPOs. This will help you improve the security of your Windows environment and minimize the risk of adverse affects caused by misconfigured GPOs.
The course also provides hands-on experience with the Group Policy Guardian (GPG) product, an enterprise policy monitoring and reporting solution for increased Windows environment security. GPG provides a single console for monitoring and reporting on changes to group policies. GPG reports can also be integrated into the GPA console.
The class starts off with a brief review of Group Policy functionality and architecture. Then you learn how to plan for and install GPA. Next, we show you how to set up and use the GP Repository for offline GPO administration. You also learn how to use GPA to plan, audit, and troubleshoot GPOs, as well as perform live GPO administration tasks such as backing up and restoring GPOs. Finally, you learn how to install and configure GPG and how to integrate GPG reports into the GPA console.
