Sessions by Track
NetConnect will feature six robust tracks covering leading industry topics. Each track will offer a broad selection of business sessions, technical sessions and hands-on labs delivered by your peers, NetIQ and industry experts.
Automate Processes and Procedures
IT process automation can streamline your IT operations and security while improving control and reduce errors. This track will show you how to leverage NetIQ to automate IT processes and tasks. This track will also cover how to deploy and use NetIQ's latest products to provide run book automation, including NetIQ AppManager, NetIQ Security Manager, NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager and other (even third-party) tools.
IT organizations are constantly faced with the task of delivering consistent, high-quality and cost-effective IT services. IT Service Management represents the current evolution in thinking around IT Operations. ITIL® is the default methodology for implementing an IT Service Management strategy, but is it enough? This track will focus on strategies for improving IT Service Management by exploiting NetIQ products, including ITIL supportive features, as well as broadening the discussion to include security and governance considerations.
Implement Compliance, Security and Change Control
Executives are worried about the protection of sensitive and critical data, applications and systems more than ever before, yet they remain plagued by ever increasing regulatory compliance mandates. This track will provide how to leverage NetIQ products to address the top concerns today. Security and control areas such as security information and event management, log management, entitlement reporting, configuration and change controls, segregation of duties, and compliance reporting will be covered.
While Microsoft continues to improve its tools and technologies, the management of enterprise Microsoft infrastructures seems to get more complex. This track will describe the latest and greatest Microsoft management challenges and provide new strategies to overcome them. It will also provide specific advice for streamlining the administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows servers and more, while providing a more resilient infrastructure.
Leverage New and Emerging Technologies
New technologies come with both rewards and risks. The rewards can be great, saving you both time and money or allowing you to deliver a new service to your users. Due to their newness, however, many pitfalls often exist. In this track, you will learn about new third-party technologies or those gaining prominence, such as SharePoint 2007, VMware Infrastructure 3, and Voice of IP, or new technologies and releases from NetIQ, such as NetIQ Change Guardian for Windows, Aegis, NetIQ Security Manager's TRACE technology.
Extend Legacy Host Access and Secure Communications
A significant percentage of mission-critical enterprise data is stored and continues to be created on host systems. Whether it's users who perform data entry in a host application, the business application that needs to leverage host data for new audiences, or the security initiative that requires all network data to be encrypted, Attachmate has the solutions for accessing and securing this host data. This track will show you how to make your users significantly more productive with next-generation emulation capabilities, how to leverage host data in SOA initiatives using drag and drop integration tools, and how to secure host connections inside and outside of the corporate network.
